Lost Maples “Flaming Tree”
by John Rogers on Jul.10, 2009, under HDR, Texas, Travel
It may seem odd, but this image I call “Flaming Tree” reminds me of a nice cooler time. It’s been hot in Texas lately. Over 100 degrees almost every day for many many days… While “Flaming Tree” may be blazing with warm colors, it takes me back to a beautiful crisp autumn morning last November in Lost Maples Natural Area in Texas. I think it may be time to go to Antarctica on a photo expedition…

I remember the ranger said the colors were so pretty because of the hot dry summer – maybe that is the bright side of this heat.

I can see how this could reassure you that cooler days are ahead. Let’s not rush summer, though. Beautiful shot, gorgeous tree.

Sis,
Let’s see… My iPhone tells me that the temps this week here will be: 102, 102, 103, 102, 102 & 102
Meanwhile… you will see: 82, 85, 88, 87, 86 & 86.
Let’s see who wants to rush the seasons in January…

True. Antarctica might be nice in January—. If you need someone to carry your gear. Sis
