by John Rogers on Mar.24, 2012, under HDR, Travel, Wildflowers
It’s springtime in Texas and it looks like it’s going to be a great season for wildflowers. Last year was pretty dismal due to the extreme drought we are going through. However, lots of February rain is bringing March flowers… You can see more of my wildflower photographs here.
Auburn City limits; Auburn Texas

South of Ft. Worth Texas,16 miles west of Waxahachie & just down the road from Maypearl lives the Auburn cemetery. That’s pretty much all that remains of the small community that once called this area home. In 1968 the census reported a population of 12. I’m thinking those 12 have probably moved on… All thats left behind is this beautiful little cemetery where the flowers from past generations continue to bloom.
Ready for Spring
by John Rogers on Feb.17, 2010, under Austin Texas, HDR, Travel
Springtime in Texas means wildflowers. And Me, , I’m feeling like spring. The sun is out, ok, it’s 39 degrees outside, but there is a gentle breeze, it just feels like spring is around the corner. Very soon flowers will start to bloom along the Texas roadways. With all the rain we have had, hopefully, there will be lots of wildflowers. And, perhaps in the next few months, I’ll have some great wildflower shots to post. We shall see…
