Russell’s Senior Portraits
by John Rogers on Oct.08, 2009, under Portraits
Senior Portraits are always fun and Russell made my job especially easy. I believe you get the best result when a session is a collaborative effort between the assistant (David Wellings in this case), the subject & myself. Russell was very relaxed and had fun with the process suggesting locations and ideas for shots. No real surprise he is active in Theater.
I have to give him credit for what was probably my favorite image of the day. He suggested the shot in front of the monster cactus. It really looks great on larger sizes.
Kalee’s Senior Portrait
by John Rogers on Sep.29, 2009, under People, Portraits
Last week I had the pleasure to photograph another beautiful young High School Senior for her Senior Portrait. After High School Kalee is off to nursing school where with her wonderful intelligent humor & disposition I have no doubt she will be a tremendous success. I have so many great images of Kalee (and a few with her beautiful mom as well) it’s hard to post just one. No doubt you will be seeing more of Kalee here in the future.
More Austin Portrait Photography with Denise & Hollyn
by John Rogers on Aug.27, 2009, under Austin Texas, Portraits
Awhile back I posted a few images from a portrait photography session I did in downtown Austin of Denise and promised to post a few images of her friend Hollyn at a future date. Well, the future is now. It was a ton of fun spending some time photographing these two beautiful women. While I love my landscape & archetectural photography, photographing portraits & head shots is a bit more social. We always end up doing a lot of laughing & having a lot of fun during my portrait sessions. I’ve found that buildings, while beautiful, don’t laugh much.
Speaking of portraits, It’s that time of year when seniors are (or should be) thinking about your senior portraits. During the month of September I am offering a substantial discount off my session fees. Check out my Fee Schedule page for more information.

Austin Portrait Session with Olivia & Meredith
by John Rogers on Aug.03, 2009, under Portraits
I thought I’d share some more portraits I’ve recently photographed. To quote an old Irving Berlin tune: “Sisters, sisters, There were never such devoted sisters”. I had the pleasure of photographing a couple of wonderful twin sisters this past week. It was great spending a couple of hours together with these two gals & see the bond they have with each other. Both are not only beautiful, but brilliant too! One is an honor student in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M & the other is an honor student at its arch football rival, the University of Texas. They tell me that they are not actually identical twins, but I’m skeptical… I can’t imagine them being any closer.
I’ll also take this opportunity to say yes, I’d love to photograph you and/or your loved ones. If you need some Senior Portraits or new family portraits, please contact me.
