Ok, I know its not Valentine’s Day, but looking at Jena in her red dress just sorta makes you feel like it should be. This is another portrait from her last session here. I love it when I have the opportunity to get some totally different looks in a two hour session. This one more fun & the last one I posted was a much more classic look. (You can see the previous post here.)
This pose would also make a great Christmas card!

Children’s Portraits can be fun! They can be especially fun if the children can be doing what they want to do verses asking them to sit still & smile. Holly & Maddison were great! I wanted them to have fun & play, and they did a spectacular job of both. I just took a few images while they had fun. As it turned out we all had fun & ended up with some pretty adorable portraits in the process.

When I was shooting Eilya’s family portraits I came up with some suggested settings for her parents portraits as well as settings for her two sisters & little brother. Eilya was pretty specific where she wanted her portrait taken. Eilya wanted to be photographed sitting on her tire swing. It was perfect.

Another shot from a recent family portrait session. Momo (aka Marta) surrounded by her four adorable grand children. This was one of the very last images I shot at the end of a two and a half hour family session. It was an amazingly productive afternoon with tons of great photographs of a wonderful loving family.

Is anything more beautiful than an expecting mother? The first question people ask when I announce that I am a professional photographer is: “What kind of photography do you do?” I typically answer that I enjoy photographing “beauty”. I am fully aware that people are more comfortable if they can ‘title’ you as a portrait, landscape, architectural, etc. photography. I simply enjoy photographing beauty and that may include all of the above. So, back to my image of the beautiful expecting mother Keisha, it doesn’t get any any better than this!

Last week I had the pleasure to photograph another beautiful young High School Senior for her Senior Portrait. After High School Kalee is off to nursing school where with her wonderful intelligent humor & disposition I have no doubt she will be a tremendous success. I have so many great images of Kalee (and a few with her beautiful mom as well) it’s hard to post just one. No doubt you will be seeing more of Kalee here in the future.

I received my Portraits of Love packet in the mail yesterday. I am one of the many photographers around the country that are participating in this great program to send portraits to soldiers overseas of their family back home. It’s pretty easy. You just go to the website for Portraits of Love & find a local photographer. (Of course, if you are in Austin you are welcome to contact me.) Contact the photographer to schedule an appointment for your portrait session. Then, during your session we give you a card that shows you how to access your portrait. One copy is sent to your soldier & you also recieve a free copy for yourself. When I heard about the program was thrilled to participate and try & give a little back to the men & women and their families that serve our country.
If you have a soldier overseas, or know someone who does, please let them know about this great program.
