Amos the Cat Portrait
by John Rogers on Aug.25, 2010, under Animal, Pet Photography
Amos lives in Fairbanks Alaska. This particular day it was in the mid 70′s, quite beautiful outside and Amos REALLY wanted to go out and play. He spent the majority of his photo session looking out the French doors and doing his best to express his desire to be let out. I pretended to be a stupid human not understanding a single meow while clicking away at my shutter.
Bella’s Doggie Glamour Portrait
by John Rogers on Nov.11, 2009, under Pet Photography
I probably should have named this post differently because I don’t believe Bella is at all aware that she is a dog. I thought she was never going to be satisfied with her hair & makeup before the shoot. Ok, she wasn’t really wearing makeup… Morkie’s are naturally beautiful! A while back I did a post about her beautiful black lab ‘sister’ Mist that you can read here. They are both beautiful and just as sweet as they look!
Mist, Frisbee Retriever Extrodinare
by John Rogers on Oct.03, 2009, under Pet Photography
Not long ago I was setting up my camera at a clients to do some portrait photography when a beautiful black Labrador retriever “Mist” walked up carrying a white Frisbee & proceeded to start tapping my leg with the disk. I confess, I am a sucker for a pretty face & Mist is very persuading so I took a few minutes to do a little playing. Fortunately, she is much better at catching than I am at throwing. Despite the lack of accuracy of my throws, Mist was quite patient with me & virtually always able to catch my passes in mid air. I love doing pet portraits & after my scheduled session she was kind enough to negotiate with her “people” to have her portrait taken as well. I also photographed Mist’s adorable Morkie “stepsister” Bella. I’ll be sure & post Bella’s beautiful portrait soon.
Cool Colorado Horses
by John Rogers on Jul.07, 2009, under Colorado, Pet Photography, Travel
Perhaps this horse is sticking it’s tongue out at me because I was taking his photo, perhaps it was because he was just licking his lips after a nice bite of fresh grass, or maybe, just maybe, it was because he knew the next time I looked at his face it would be over 100 degrees in Austin Texas & he would be breathing the cool fresh Colorado air.
