Perhaps this horse is sticking it’s tongue out at me because I was taking his photo, perhaps it was because he was just licking his lips after a nice bite of fresh grass, or maybe, just maybe, it was because he knew the next time I looked at his face it would be over 100 degrees in Austin Texas & he would be breathing the cool fresh Colorado air.
In the heart of Boulder Colorado just a block from what was once downtown Boulder & is currently a great cobblestone pedestrian mall & shopping area, you will find one of my favorite old hotels. The Hotel Boulderado opened in 1909 & still oozes an old western charm. I love this great cherrywood stairway. (Note: it’s actually shot from the top looking down, contrary to an earlier post). Of course, if your legs are tired after a long day one of the very gracious staff is always happy to act as an operator for the original 100 year old Otis elevator to give you a ride up to your floor.
