Beverly & I went out last night to try and see if we could see and possibly photograph an Aurora. The forecast was for a minimal Aurora but we thought we would take our chances. As we drove north of Fairbanks to get away from the city lights we could immediately see the green aurora high in the sky. Unfortunately, by the time we could find a dark road, the aurora was closer to the horizon and less active. Still quite cool! Hopefully we will get another opportunity during our visit to see this truly mystical sight.

This award winning print (1st place in a photo competition at the local Professional Photographers Association guild.) is from a session I did awhile ago of a couple of adorable cousins. Obviously much of the award credit goes to the handsome dude model! I love photographing families and babies. Although I am really known for my commercial fine art prints, there is nothing quite like creating custom artwork for families that they can enjoy for generations.

When I travel to amazing places I wonder; Do the people that live here, and walk these grounds every day think of this place as amazing, or is it just where they sit and enjoy their lunch break like you or I might in our local park?

The Louvre is an amazing place. You can walk for hours, days actually, and never really get a chance to see all the amazing art and artifacts on display. On my last visit I spent a little time looking at not only the art in the building, but also the art in the architecture. This is the view when you look up to enjoy the ceiling in one of the many galleries.
